Ways to Donate

VEFC’s statewide shelter care programs and services are provided free of charge to at-risk children and youth thanks to donors like you. As competition for funding and the need for shelter care services steadily increase, your support is needed now more than ever before. There are many ways you can support the work of VEFC:
  • Donate online today: With just a click of the mouse you can contribute to VEFC:

  • Mail in a tax-deductible contribution: Donations by check or money order, made payable to VEFC, may be mailed to:

  • Contribute in-kind goods and services: Help us spread the word about our amazing programs! By donating your skills, expertise and talent, you are making a valuable contribution to our mission of service! Click here for updates to VEFC’s Needs List – you are sure to find a simple way to make a lasting difference in the life of at-risk children and youth!
  • Shop for Charity!!!!!! Yes, it is TRUE! You now have a good reason to go shopping. With every dollar you spend at retailers such as Target, Neiman Marcus, Food Lion, etc. a portion of your total spending will be donated directly to benefit VEFC.   • Host a Friendraiser! Invite friends over to your home for a potluck meal, drinks, or dessert, and ask them to bring a check to support VEFC. A VEFC staff member or volunteer is happy to attend and present VEFC’s program information to your guests. To request information, please email centraloffice@vefc.org.
  • Contact your local United Way for information on participation in their Annual Workplace Giving Campaign
  • Donate gifts of stock or securities: Help VEFC plan for the future, which may provide significant tax savings to you. Gifts of stock or securities are processed by Bank of America. If you would like to make a donation of stock or have questions about the process, please contact VEFC for information to share with your financial advisor.
  • Include VEFC as a beneficiary of your estate: Planned gifts, such as bequests, gifts of stock or other securities help us plan for the future and potential tax savings to you or your estate. VEFC is happy to provide your legal advisor with further information, upon request.

  • Make a tribute or memorial gifts: Honor a loved one through a special gift to VEFC in his or her name. Tributes might include birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, memorials and other special occasions.
